Oktober vorgesehen.

The European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) has adopted amendments to the revision of the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). Among other measures, the proposal includes the establishment of a European Critical Raw Materials Centre (CRMC).
The Centre would support the EU in strengthening the security of critical raw material supply chains. Its responsibilities could include joint purchasing, strategic stockpiling, market monitoring, price formation and financial support for strategic projects. A €2 billion European Critical Raw Materials Fund is also proposed.
The proposed framework also includes European contingency stocks and an Intelligence Hub to monitor raw material markets and improve preparedness for supply disruptions. The CRMC could therefore play an important role in strengthening Europe’s raw material security and supporting the development of the European mining industry.
The final version of the report is still pending. A vote in the European Parliament’s plenary is scheduled for 19 October.
